30 January 2017 International
The Trump administration is standing firm over its ban on immigration from seven countries despite court rulings and mass protests against it.
Mr Trump’s executive order, signed on Friday, halted the entire US refugee programme for one hundred and twenty days, indefinitely banning Syrian refugees, and suspending all nationals from seven Muslim-majority countries.
In a statement, President Trump who denied that the ban was a Muslim ban said visas would be issued once secure policies were in place.
