The United Nations, UN, has said the world is facing its largest humanitarian crisis since 1945, appealing for help to avoid what it described a catastrophe.
UN through its humanitarian chief, Stephen O’Brien, said more than twenty million people faced the threat of starvation and famine in Yemen, Somalia, South Sudan and Nigeria.
Mr O’Brien whose comments follow on from a similar appeal made by UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres last month, said four point four billion dollars are needed by July to avert disaster in the affected countries.
