Oyo State Chief Judge Expresses Delight at Administration of Criminal Justice Law

The Chief Judge of Oyo State, Justice Muntar Abimbola is delighted that the state has joined the league of states operating the Administration of Criminal Justice Law in Nigeria.

Justice Abimbola said the new law, which is the abrogation of Criminal Procedure Law, has some innovations that would make criminal justice administration more effective with good implementation from all the critical stakeholders in the judicial sector.

Justice Abimbola stated this today in a chat with Fresh FM at the end of a two-day Multi Stakeholders’ Workshop for Effective Implementation of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law 2017, put together by the Oyo State Ministry of Justice and the Justice Development and Peace Commission in Ibadan.

The Chief Judge, who said the law would also make justice delivery faster, now speaks on one of the innovations the law brings.

In a separate interview with Fresh FM, human rights lawyer and Development Officer with the Justice Development and Peace Commission, Aderonke Ige, said stakeholders’ meeting was made collaborative for a reason.
