Group Managing Director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation NNPC, Maikanti Baru, yesterday said a fertilizers deal between the Nigerian and the Moroccan governments would create fifty thousand jobs.
Doctor Baru made this known in a statement released in Abuja by Ndu Ughamadu, NNPC Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division.
He said this would be made possible as a Memorandum of Understanding on the supply of phosphate has been signed between both countries.
Receiving the National Coordinator of the New Partnership for African Development, Gloria Akobundu, during a courtesy visit, Baru noted that phosphate production would rejuvenate agriculture.
He added that development has led to the production of about one point three million tones of fertilizer in the country.
