24 March 2017 National

Group Managing Director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation NNPC, Maikanti Baru, yesterday said a fertilizers deal ‎between the Nigerian and the Moroccan governments would create fifty thousand jobs.‎

Doctor Baru made this known in a statement released in Abuja by Ndu Ughamadu, NNPC Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division.

He said this would be made possible as a Memorandum of Understanding on the supply of phosphate has been signed between both countries.

Receiving the National Coordinator of the New Partnership for African Development, Gloria Akobundu, during a courtesy visit, ‎Baru noted that phosphate production would rejuvenate agriculture.

He added that development has led to the production of about one point three million tones of fertilizer in the country.
