Expert faults FG economic recovery and growth plan

The Economic Recovery and Growth Plan, ERGP, announced by the Federal Government on Tuesday has come under attack for lack of specificity and action plans.
An economist and former member of the House of Representatives, Doctor Anthony Aziegbemhin in a lecture in Abuja yesterday noted that the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan has no clear stimulus package.
According to him, government must take clear cut policy actions such as targeting and promoting manufacturing as a way of reducing imports as well as encouraging exports to earn foreign exchange in order to get the country out of recession.
The expert also cautioned the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, on its current policy of pumping dollars into the foreign exchange market, saying the situation would not improve as long as the appetite for the forex is not tamed.
